Cooking Techniques
Getting those perfect spiral wraps might take a little practice, but don’t worry! Try holding your sausage skewer at a slight angle while wrapping the dough – this helps create those pretty diagonal lines. If your crescent dough strips break, just piece them together as you wrap. The maple syrup acts like glue and adds amazing flavor!
Variations & Substitutions
Want to mix things up? Try different sausage flavors like spicy Italian or chicken apple! No maple syrup? Honey works great too. You can also add fun toppings before air frying – a sprinkle of everything bagel seasoning or some grated parmesan cheese adds extra yummy flavor. If you’re out of crescent rolls, pizza dough cut into strips works just as well.
Serving Suggestions
These sausage skewers are perfect for breakfast or brunch! Serve them with extra maple syrup for dipping, or make a quick honey mustard sauce. They’re super fun for kids’ parties or game day snacks. Want to make it a meal? Add some scrambled eggs and fresh fruit on the side. For an extra special touch, sprinkle some powdered sugar on top right before serving!
Storage Tips
These tasty skewers are best eaten fresh and hot from the air fryer. If you have leftovers, keep them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. To reheat, pop them back in the air fryer for 2-3 minutes at 350°F – they’ll crisp right up! Just remember to remove the wooden skewers before storing if you plan to microwave them later.
