Air Fryer Tips
Hey there! Want the crispiest egg rolls? Leave some space between them in your air fryer basket – this lets the hot air move around freely. If you’re cooking 4 egg rolls at once, you might need an extra minute or two. Your egg rolls are ready when they’re golden brown and crispy on the outside!
Serving Ideas
Make your egg rolls extra tasty with some dipping sauces! Sweet chili sauce is my favorite, but soy sauce, duck sauce, or sweet and sour sauce work great too. Add a side of simple Asian slaw or steamed veggies to make it a complete meal. These make such fun appetizers for parties!
Storage Tips
Keep your frozen egg rolls in the freezer until you’re ready to cook them – they’ll stay fresh for months! If you have any cooked leftovers (which rarely happens at my house!), pop them in the fridge for up to 2 days. To reheat, just put them back in the air fryer for 2-3 minutes at 350°F. They’ll crisp right up!
Quick Variations
Mix things up by trying different types of frozen egg rolls – veggie, chicken, or pork all work great in the air fryer. Some brands might need slightly different cooking times, so keep an eye on them the first time you try a new variety. A light spray of oil can make them extra crispy, but it’s totally optional!
Air Fryer Egg Rolls
Equipment
- Air Fryer
- Large Skillet
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
- 1 lb ground pork
- 1 bag coleslaw mix (14 oz)
- 1 tsp grated garlic
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp sweet chili sauce plus more for dipping
- 1/4 cup scallions thinly sliced
- 10 egg roll wrappers
- 1 large egg beaten with water for egg wash
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the sesame oil. When the oil is fragrant, add the pork and cook for 5 minutes, or until it is fully browned and no more pink remains. Make sure to stir the pork and break it into very small pieces as it cooks.
- Next add the coleslaw mix, garlic, and ginger. Stir and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- In a small bowl, stir together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and sweet chili sauce. Add the mixture to the pork and cabbage and stir to combine. Remove the pan from the heat and add the scallions.
- Spray your air fryer basket with olive oil spray, allowing the filling to cool for 5 minutes while you preheat the air fryer to 375ºF/190ºC.
- Fill each egg roll wrapper with ⅓ cup of filling. Fold in the corners of the egg roll wrapper so that the filling is covered. Then fold the bottom up to cover the filling as well. Gently roll from bottom to top.
- Brush the top edge of the egg roll wrapper with the egg wash and press it to seal. Repeat with remaining egg rolls.
- Place egg rolls seam side down into the preheated air fryer. Brush tops with egg wash and spray with olive oil spray.
- Cook for 8 minutes, then flip and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp. Cook in batches if needed. Serve immediately with sweet chili sauce for dipping.
