Ingredients for Perfect Steak

Ingredients for Perfect Steak
  • Steaks: 2 pieces of 4oz Filet Mignon or your preferred cut
  • Seasoning: 1 tablespoon Montreal Steak Seasoning for optimal flavor
  • Butter: 1/2 cup, softened at room temperature
  • Aromatics: 1 tablespoon minced garlic, 1/2 tablespoon dried rosemary
  • Herbs: 1 tablespoon dried parsley for garnish and flavor

Cooking Steps

  1. Preparation: Heat your Ninja Foodi to 400°F using air fry setting for 5 minutes.
  2. Season: Coat all sides of steaks generously with Montreal seasoning for a flavorful crust.
  3. Air Frying: Place in basket and cook for 6 minutes per side (12 minutes total) for medium-well doneness.
  4. Herb Butter: Meanwhile, mix softened butter with garlic, rosemary, and parsley until smooth.
  5. Resting: Let steaks rest for 5 minutes to retain juices.
  6. Serving: Top with prepared herb butter and serve while hot.

Cooking Tips for Perfect Steak

Let your steak come to room temperature about 30 minutes before cooking – this helps it cook more evenly. Pat the steak dry with paper towels before adding the Montreal seasoning – this creates a better crust. When you flip the steak, use tongs instead of a fork to keep all those tasty juices inside. The 5-minute rest after cooking is super important – it lets the juices settle back into the meat, making every bite juicy and tender.

Easy Substitutions

Don’t have Montreal seasoning? A simple mix of salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika works great too! Fresh herbs can replace dried ones in the butter – just double the amount since fresh herbs are less concentrated. Any thick-cut steak works in this recipe – try ribeye, New York strip, or top sirloin if you can’t find filet mignon.

Serving Ideas

This steak loves simple sides that let it shine! Try it with a baked potato or crispy fries – they’re amazing dipped in the extra herb butter. A fresh green salad or roasted vegetables balance out the rich flavors. Want to make it extra special? Add some sautéed mushrooms on top, or serve it with grilled asparagus spears.

Storage and Leftovers

Store any leftover steak in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. The herb butter keeps well in the fridge for a week – try it on bread or vegetables! To reheat your steak without drying it out, warm it gently in the air fryer at 350°F for just 2-3 minutes. The butter can be frozen in an ice cube tray for up to 3 months – pop out a cube whenever you need it!
