Cooking Techniques

Getting the perfect texture for these oatmeal creme pies starts with pulsing your oats! Don’t over-process them – those varying sizes create amazing texture in every bite. When mixing your butter and sugars, take your time to get them really fluffy – this creates a wonderful, soft cookie. If you’re new to air fryer baking, watch your first batch closely since air fryers can heat differently. The cookies should be golden brown but still slightly soft when you take them out – they’ll firm up as they cool!

Storage Tips

These tasty treats will stay fresh in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. The marshmallow filling can get sticky, so place pieces of wax paper between layers if you’re stacking them. Want to make them last longer? Pop them in the fridge for up to a week! You can also freeze the unfilled cookies for up to 2 months – just thaw them completely and add the filling when you’re ready to serve.

Variations

Love playing with flavors? Try adding 1/2 cup of raisins or chocolate chips to the cookie batter for extra yumminess! You can swap the dark brown sugar for light brown sugar if that’s what you have on hand. For a fun twist, add a tiny pinch of salt to the marshmallow filling – it makes the sweetness pop! During fall, try adding an extra dash of cinnamon and a pinch of ginger for a spicier cookie that tastes just like the holidays.

Serving Suggestions

These oatmeal creme pies make the perfect afternoon treat with a cold glass of milk or hot cup of coffee. For an extra special dessert, warm them up for 10 seconds in the microwave – they’ll taste just like they’re fresh from the air fryer! Want to make them extra fancy? Serve them on a pretty plate with a light dusting of powdered sugar on top, or add them to a dessert board with fresh berries.
