Air Fryer Plums

These juicy Air Fryer Plums transform into a heavenly dessert in just 15 minutes. With their caramelized edges and tender centers, they deliver the perfect balance of sweet and tart flavors.

The air fryer works its magic to intensify the natural sugars while maintaining the fruit’s nutritional benefits – including vitamin C and potassium. Whether you serve them over yogurt, ice cream, or enjoy them on their own, these warm, succulent plums make an irresistible treat that’s both delicious and guilt-free.

The Perfect Air-Fried Plums

The Perfect Air-Fried Plums
  • Red Plums: Choose firm, ripe plums for best results
  • Brown Sugar: Creates a beautiful caramelization
  • Ground Ginger: Adds warmth and subtle spiciness
  • Ground Cinnamon: Brings cozy aromatic flavor
  • Salt: Just a pinch to enhance flavors
  • Maple Syrup: Natural sweetener for perfect glazing

Step-by-Step Cooking Guide

  1. Prep the Plums: Halve the plums and remove pits carefully
  2. Create the Glaze: Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, and maple syrup until well combined
  3. Basting: Generously brush the plum halves with the sweet glaze mixture
  4. Air Frying Setup: Place plums in air fryer basket with cut side up
  5. Cooking Time: Air fry at 350ºF for 12 minutes, checking at 10-minute mark
  6. Watch for Doneness: Look for bubbling glaze, but avoid overcooking
  7. Serving: Enjoy hot, either solo or paired with ice cream or pancakes

Serving Suggestions

These sweet and spicy air fryer plums are so versatile! Serve them warm over vanilla ice cream for a quick dessert that will make everyone happy. They’re also amazing on top of yogurt for breakfast, or alongside pancakes and waffles for a special brunch. Want something really simple? Just pop them in a bowl and eat them as is – they’re perfectly delicious on their own!

Quick Substitutions

No maple syrup? Don’t worry! You can use honey instead – it adds a lovely floral sweetness. If you’re out of brown sugar, regular white sugar works too. And while the mix of cinnamon and ginger creates a wonderful warm flavor, you can keep it simple with just cinnamon, or try other spices like nutmeg or cardamom for a different twist.

Helpful Tips

When picking plums for this recipe, choose ones that are ripe but still firm – they’ll hold their shape better while cooking. The basting step is super important – it helps create that beautiful glaze that makes these plums extra special. And remember, every air fryer heats a bit differently, so start checking your plums at the 10-minute mark to get them just right!

Storage Notes

These air fryer plums taste best when eaten right away while they’re warm and the glaze is still sticky. If you have leftovers, keep them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. To warm them up, just pop them in the microwave for 20-30 seconds. The glaze might not be as thick after reheating, but they’ll still be yummy!
