Serving Suggestions
These sweet and spicy air fryer plums are so versatile! Serve them warm over vanilla ice cream for a quick dessert that will make everyone happy. They’re also amazing on top of yogurt for breakfast, or alongside pancakes and waffles for a special brunch. Want something really simple? Just pop them in a bowl and eat them as is – they’re perfectly delicious on their own!
Quick Substitutions
No maple syrup? Don’t worry! You can use honey instead – it adds a lovely floral sweetness. If you’re out of brown sugar, regular white sugar works too. And while the mix of cinnamon and ginger creates a wonderful warm flavor, you can keep it simple with just cinnamon, or try other spices like nutmeg or cardamom for a different twist.
Helpful Tips
When picking plums for this recipe, choose ones that are ripe but still firm – they’ll hold their shape better while cooking. The basting step is super important – it helps create that beautiful glaze that makes these plums extra special. And remember, every air fryer heats a bit differently, so start checking your plums at the 10-minute mark to get them just right!
Storage Notes
These air fryer plums taste best when eaten right away while they’re warm and the glaze is still sticky. If you have leftovers, keep them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. To warm them up, just pop them in the microwave for 20-30 seconds. The glaze might not be as thick after reheating, but they’ll still be yummy!
